About DOCTOR MUCKLEY

Dr. Elizabeth Muckley is an optometrist, educator, healthcare advocate, and nationally recognized leader in the profession of optometry. She currently serves as CEO and Executive Director of the Ohio Optometric Association, where she works to advance access to comprehensive eye care, advocate for patients, and support optometrists across Ohio.

Before assuming her leadership role, Dr. Muckley spent more than two decades in clinical practice as Director of Optometric Services at Northeast Ohio Eye Surgeons. Her clinical career focused on glaucoma management, ocular disease, and post-operative surgical care, helping thousands of patients preserve and improve their vision.

A passionate advocate for public health and children's vision, Dr. Muckley has dedicated significant efforts to increasing awareness of the importance of comprehensive eye examinations and early detection of vision problems. She has worked closely with healthcare professionals, educators, policymakers, and community organizations to improve access to eye care and strengthen programs that support children's visual development and academic success.

In addition to her leadership and advocacy work, Dr. Muckley serves as Clinical Associate Professor of Practice at The Ohio State University College of Optometry, where she helps educate and mentor future generations of eye care providers. Through her teaching, public speaking, and professional service, she continues to promote evidence-based care, patient education, and innovation within the profession.
